I began drawing the Wolf after a long pause in my art practice — slowly, over several months, in the stillness of my studio. It felt like a quiet return to something I'd been missing. I always knew I wanted to draw my partner's power animal. As the piece emerged, I found myself thinking about the qualities he embodies: the protector, the loyal companion, the one who leads with instinct and heart. His gaze mattered most to me — strong, but softened by tenderness. From his chest, I let his heart expand outward into branching forms, a way of showing how he loves: expansive, generous, unlimited. This Wolf became more than a portrait. It became a tribute to the kind of love that protects and stands quietly beside you — the strength that doesn't need to be loud to be felt.
